Job Description

Lifeguards are the key staff who run the waterfront activities at Michindoh. These highly trained, professional staff members are crucial to serving youth and partner ministries at Michindoh’s waterfront. We rely on them to “Serve with Purpose” the guests who come to Michindoh to “retreat”, rest, and grow closer to Him. Lifeguards are certified through the American Red Cross (Michindoh will provide this training), and continue to train throughout the summer through in-services and regular practice. Lifeguards manage the waterfront by monitoring guests during swim/water activities and practice emergency prevention through enforcing the waterfront rules.

  • Swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl or breaststroke while demonstrating rhythmic breathing and breath control

  • Tread water for two minutes without using arms

  • Possess a current certification in Lifeguarding from the American Red Cross
