OUTDOOR EDUCATION

Welcome to the Michindoh Outdoor Education School Program

I’m so excited to be working with your school to combine the excitement of learning and the experience of the outdoors come to life. Whether you are a teacher organizing the trip, a parent looking for extra information, or a student just excited to find out what camp is all about, I’m happy you’re here and I value our partnership.
We strive to provide a great experience for everyone who sets foot on our grounds. Our goal is to help you grow as a person. Students have so many new experiences, some of them are once-in-a-lifetime opportunities! Cabin Leaders get hands-on practice in responsibility and leadership by managing a cabin of students. Teachers get to participate alongside their students and watch them grow outside of the classroom.
I’m hoping that as you navigate through the preparations of paperwork, organizing, packing, etc. that you will find peace in knowing your students are in good hands when they come to Michindoh.

Thank you for allowing us to be a small part in your student’s educational journey.

WHY OE?

"Why do we go to camp? Why is it a part of school?"

We get these questions a lot - here are the 3 main reasons we do Outdoor Education partnering with schools:

  1. To further our Education and nurture our relationship with Nature

    • Attending classes and participating in hands-on, interactive experiences.

    • Being outdoors!

  2. Living Respectfully and Responsibly with others

    • Learning to live in a cabin with others, being respectful of other’s space and items.

    • Being responsible for your own words, actions, and items.

  3. Goal Setting

    • Every class has an opportunity to set a goal and you’re encouraged to do your best – we don’t always achieve the goal – as long as you try your best, it’s okay to fail and try again.

Our program offers 20+ classes providing a variety of hands-on learning experiences. From Science and History to Team-building and Adventure we encourage students to take a step out of their comfort zone and try something new!
